About The Author:
Chanel Vargas is a senior at Northwestern University, currently working on her BA in magazine journalism and a minor in psychology. During her years at Northwestern, Ms. Vargas has become an active member of the Her Campus NU, the NU American Sign Language Club and the National Association for Hispanic Journalists. She has also been a recipient of the Johns Hopkins scholarship and the Questbridge College Match scholarship. In Fall 2016, she will continue her writing as an intern at Bustle, a US women’s magazine in New York City.
Carla Nasca, Ph.D., is a post-doctoral fellow of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in the laboratory of Neuroendocrinology at the Rockefeller University, New York. Dr. Nasca received her B.A. in Molecular Biology and her M.S. in Electrophysiology from the University of Palermo in Italy. She earned her Ph.D. in Neurobiology and Pharmacology from the University Sapienza in Rome, Italy, before moving to The Rockefeller University under the mentorship of Dr. Bruce McEwen.
