About The Author:
Dr. Fred Paas works as a professor of educational psychology at the Early Start Research Institute of the University of Wollongong, and at Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands. His work has been focusing on multidisciplinary research into using contemporary knowledge about the human cognitive system to design effective and efficient instruction for lifelong learning.
Currently, his research focuses on the relation between human movement and cognition. Since the 1990s he has been using cognitive load theory to investigate and implement innovative instructional strategies in education. I have over 200 scientific publications, which have been cited more than 14.000 times. In the past decade, Fred has been recognized as one of the world’s most productive writers both in the fields of educational psychology and instructional design. He acquired more than $8 million in grants, and is a fellow of the American Educational Research Association.
