About Us

The mission of Anxiety.org is to provide access to cutting edge, evidence-based treatment to all suffering from an Anxiety Disorder regardless of geographic location or financial means.

By serving as a nexus between mental health care providers, those searching the internet for Anxiety Disorder treatment, and North America’s foremost Anxiety Disorder researchers, Anxiety.org strives to bring the best care to the greatest number of people.  Anxiety.org will also facilitate an interactive, online community consisting of Anxiety Disorders researchers, treatment providers, and those they serve.

The estimated 12-month prevalence of Anxiety Disorders among adults in North America is over 45,000,000, so it is not surprising that there are currently over 4,000,000 internet searches on Anxiety Disorder related terms per month worldwide. Many of these searches come from undiagnosed individuals seeking help for what is often a devastating illness that can take over an individual’s life and isolate him or her from the community.

The isolating nature of Anxiety Disorders has historically been an obstacle to seeking professional treatment for people with these conditions, but this is changing with the advent of the internet. The internet allows individuals suffering with anxiety to seek help anonymously and from the comfort of their home.

Anixety.org provides the following services for both individuals suffering from anxiety and mental healthcare providers.

  • Web-based, self-directed cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Secure, HIPPA compliant teletherapy
  • Provider Directory searchable by user-defined characteristics
  • Source for research-backed, cutting edge information on Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety.org was created in collaboration with the UCLA Anxiety Disorders Program under the direction of Alexander Bystritsky, M.D., Ph.D. and Jason Schiffman, M.D., M.A., M.B.A.
